Malcolm Marcoulides earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Columbia University.  As a student he served as a Co-Head of the Columbia Finance Membership Program (CFMP), Vice President of Columbia University Financial Engineering (CUFE), and on the Boards of Columbia University Financial Investment Group (CFIG) and Columbia Undergraduate Real Estate Society (CRES).  In addition, he served on student council.
